Rental cars are perhaps the most convenient way to get from the airport to the hotel and can be reserved online. Many area attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. For travel around St. Augustine and to outlying areas, it is suggested that guests rent a car.

The hotel features 138 guestrooms in an historical four-story castle. No two rooms are alike in layout. The antique-style decor features wrought-iron beds (most are two- or four-poster), wicker lounge chairs, and mahogany tables. All rooms also provide CD players, Nintendo video-game consoles, and multiple-line telephones with data ports for dial-up Internet access. Complimentary toiletries are created by Lloyd’s of London, and bathrooms contain makeup mirrors as well.

95 Cordova - The New World eclectic cuisine at this restaurant offers an innovative blend of American, Asian, Mediterranean, Moroccan, and Caribbean influences. Guests dine in elegant, jewel-toned surroundings for daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A wine list is offered as are cocktails from a full bar. Café Cordova - This gourmet, European-style café features Starbucks coffee and wines by the glass. A light menu offers soups, salads, gourmet pizzas, and creative desserts. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available. Cobalt Lounge - Guests enjoy dinners and drinks by candlelight in this casual lounge. Built in downtown St. Augustine in 1888, the Casa Monica Hotel has undergone several transformations over the past 100-plus years. The Moorish-revival castle was originally built as a hotel, and functioned as one for many years before being converted into a courthouse in 1964. In 1999, however, the restored building was re-opened as a hotel and two years later, King Juan Carlos I and Queen Sophia of Spain were hosted here. Defined by its red-tiled roof, arched carriage entrance, and hand-painted Italian tile, the hotel now offers high-end boutiques in a lobby with marble floors, chandeliers, a fountain, and a comfortable sitting area with leather furniture. There is a fitness center on site and a patio with a heated outdoor pool, lounge chairs, and bar service. Guests who wish to go to the beach can enjoy privileges at the exclusive Serenata Beach Club (fee applies). An on-site business center here has high-speed Internet access. Guests may also rent one of the hotel’s antique cars for a historic town of the area or for special functions.

Casa Monica has its own outdoor pool, located in a sunny courtyard, and there is a fitness center on site as well. However, many guests choose to pay a daily fee to use the facilities at the Serenata Beach Club, five miles away, which offers a heated family pool with a 12-foot waterfall, a separate adults-only pool, and a children’s play pool with various water features. The Beach Club also offers equipment for snorkeling, surfing, kayaking, and diving; and has an extensive health club with Cybex equipment. Serenata Beach Club is five miles away and so is the beach minus the club. Hotel guests can head to one of several beaches to sail, swim, or play beach volleyball. Closer to the hotel, guests can walk to many of St. Augustine’s sites; as one of the oldest towns in the country, it offers much to see. In fact, the hotel offers historical tours of the city in its antique automobiles; guests should ask at the front desk for details. Farther afield are several golf courses recommended by the hotel; inquire for details. The activities listed below are available either on site or near the hotel; fees may apply.
